Mmmm, tasty! Everyone loves some oil with their bottled water. Er, wait a minute, that actually sounds completely disgusting. Oil drizzled on my salad - yes please! But not in my water, thanks.
This bottle by Jo Hosker which is part of her Turn to Tap project, is filled with the amount of oil used during the average lifecycle of a plastic water bottle. That’s right, if you measured the energy costs of producing plastic water bottles they’re the equivalent to filling up a quarter of each bottle with oil.
But don’t worry - there’s always tap water. Tasty, oil free, very low cost and available practically everywhere in the Western world - it’s amazing that anyone would ever buy bottled water anyway.
